Last Blog

This is my final blog about the Red Sox. I think that they have been one of the best teams in the last 15 years. I also think that they are going to still be a good team in the future. I don’t see any reason that they shouldn’t make the playoffs for at least another 5 or so years. Overall they have great players, coaches, and staff. Thank you for reading my blogs.

Dustin Pedroia

My Influential player on the Red Sox is Dustin Pedroia. He is the second baseman for the Boston Red Sox and has been since 2007.  He was born August 17, 1983 in Woodland, CA and is 30 years old. He is  5’9″.  Over the years he has had many awards like rookie of the year in 07, he won the gold glove award in 08,11, and 13. He was also the 2008 AL MVP. He has appeared in 4 allstars games 08,09,10 and 13. Overall he is a great player. He was always told he wasn’t good enough, but clearly he proved everyone wrong.

2013 Red Sox Home opener

The Red Sox Home opener was last Monday April 4. Before the game all of the Red Sox players and faculty from last year got championship team rings. The people that brought the rings were some of the Boston marathon survivors. On the inside of all the rings there was an imprint of a beard because all of the players had beards for the playoffs. David Ortiz   (Big Papi) got two rings because he was the world series MVP. Also, after everyone got their rings some of the retired Red Sox players like Pedro Martinez, Mike Lowell, and Jason Varitek brought in the 2004, 2007, and the new 2013 world series trophy. Along with retired patriots players Teddy Bruschi, Ty Law, and Troy Brown brought in all three of the Patriot’s Superbowl trophies. The Red Sox did end up losing to the Brewers though 6-2.  Although they didn’t win the home opener the Red Sox still have about 158 games left to play so I wouldn’t be too worried.

Theses were the two world series rings that David Ortiz got the middle one is his world series MVP ring the the ones on the outside are both sides of his 2013 regular world series ring.

The Red Sox visit the White House.

On Tuesday April first the Red Sox went to visit the white house. The reason they got to go is because when a team wins a championship they get to go visit the president and get a tour of the white house. They even give the president a jersey. Overall the players had a good time. The thing that was most popular about the visit was that David Ortiz or as some know him as Big Papi took a selfie with Barack Obama.

Hello there, my name is Matt, I will be writing about the outlook of the 2014 Boston Red Sox season. The Red Sox play at Fenway Park in Boston, Massachusetts. The Red Sox won the 2013 world series last year. They have won a total of 8 world series. Including 3 in the past ten years, 2004, 2007,2013. Before 2004 they hadn’t won a world series in 86 years. Could they win it again this year? I think it is possible.

I am writing about the Red Sox because I have been a fan since day one. I have been playing baseball for about 10 years. I have learned a lot about the game. I have been to at least 15 Red sox games my whole life. Fenway Park is a great place to go to watch a baseball game. I always have a lot of fun when I go.
