The Red Sox Home opener was last Monday April 4. Before the game all of the Red Sox players and faculty from last year got championship team rings. The people that brought the rings were some of the Boston marathon survivors. On the inside of all the rings there was an imprint of a beard because all of the players had beards for the playoffs. David Ortiz (Big Papi) got two rings because he was the world series MVP. Also, after everyone got their rings some of the retired Red Sox players like Pedro Martinez, Mike Lowell, and Jason Varitek brought in the 2004, 2007, and the new 2013 world series trophy. Along with retired patriots players Teddy Bruschi, Ty Law, and Troy Brown brought in all three of the Patriot’s Superbowl trophies. The Red Sox did end up losing to the Brewers though 6-2. Although they didn’t win the home opener the Red Sox still have about 158 games left to play so I wouldn’t be too worried.
Theses were the two world series rings that David Ortiz got the middle one is his world series MVP ring the the ones on the outside are both sides of his 2013 regular world series ring.
